Common Questions

We’ve taken some of the questions we get asked most frequently and compiled them in one place. Should you have any other questions that we may have missed, please fill in the form below and we will do our best to answer any additional questions you may have!

Is chiropractic safe?

The short answer, yes! We make sure we complete a thorough exam on each patient before we do any sort of adjustment. During this initial assessment, we discuss the patient's health history and determine any red flags before we then perform a physical exam to ensure it is safe to work on a patient. After the assessment, if we feel the patient would not benefit from an adjustment or needs a different avenue of care, we will recommend next steps.

I hurt my ankle. Can you help with that?

Absolutely! Not only do we adjust spines, but we can also adjust shoulders, hips, wrists, fingers, knees, etc. The list goes on.

How long is an appointment?

Appointment times can vary based on the number of areas that are being treated. New patient exams can take anywhere from 30-45 minutes whereas follow-up appointments can last anywhere from 5-15 minutes.

At what age is it safe to start chiropractic care?

Dr. Caleb's first chiropractic adjustment was when he was less than a week old! Chiropractic is not for a particular age group. You are never too young or too old to be adjusted. We always modify our treatment methods according to how each individual body responds.

I've had back surgery. Is it safe to go to a chiropractor?

Yes, I perform a thorough examination to determine the safest and most effective technique to treat patients that have undergone back surgery. An examination is the only way to determine if chiropractic is safe after a surgery or any other injury.

I heard a pop when you adjusted me. Is that normal?

Yes. If you're a technical person, look up tribonucleation. You will find an interesting, but long-winded explanation. Otherwise, the "popping" noise can be explained by fixated or "stuck" joints releasing pressure. If a patient is not comfortable with that noise, there are other ways we can adjust patients to avoid a popping sound.
